abject Pogrom -- photography by Petr Sorfa ![]() In May 2007 Vorpal Space presented "abject Pogrom" a series of photographs by international artist Petr Sorfa. The show is a collection images of unclothed subjects in carefully constructed installations created by the artist specifically for the project. Petr Sorfa's describes this work as being "neo-antisymbolism. " Regardless of labels, the photography is striking and evocative -- an individual viewer may "like" or "dislike" Petr's photographs, but one cannot deny the power of the images. More of Petr Sorfa's images can be seen on www.milkrobotics.com Petr Sorfa was born in the Czech Republic, grew up in South Africa and has lived in England, Scotland, the Netherlands, Belgium, New Zealand, New Jersey and currently resides in Portland, Oregon. Recently his photography has been shown in exhibitions such as Detroit's infamous Dirty Show 7.5 & 8 and the Seattle Erotic Art Festival 2007 (with an honoury mention) alongside artists such as HR Giger and Annie Sprinkle. He is also one of the few photographers to be shown on Juxtapoz.com. In April 2007, he took part in the Kitchen Sink Project: Step Into My Office. Additionally, Petr Sorfa works extensively as an illustrator and animator, and is the director of the Portland Indy Animation Festival (2003/2004/2006.)
