Curatorial and Artist Placement Services

Drawing on our years of experience curating art shows and coordinating art events, Vorpal Space offers curatorial services to Portland area businesses and other organizations who wish to showcase high quality artwork. For artists, especially young up-and-coming artists, this service can provide opportunities to sell artwork and to build your artists resume.

Our pool of artists encompasses individuals whose work spans a wide variety of genres, mediums, and themes -- the common thread running between our varous artists is technical excellence and a mastery of their medium. Our mission is to pair artists with venues to find artwork which compliments the existing theme and aesthetic of the venue.

For Businesses
Vorpal Space will pair Portland area businesses with artwork from our diverse pool of high quality local and national artists which will enhance the overall aesthetic of your venue, and compliment your existing decor. Artwork can be rotated on a monthly or bimonthly cycle, and will help keep your venue looking and feeling fresh and stylish. All physical installation of artwork and promotion of the art show will be overseen by Vorpal Space personel. Additionally, Vorpal Space will prepare and distribute professional press materials for local and national media. Good press work often results in media coverage for art exhibits, and gives your business a kind of advertising you can't purchase.
Benefits to businesses include:
> Increased traffic and revenue due to interested art patrons and friends of the artist
> Supplemental revenue from art sales
> Regular professional press work promoting your venue in the context of the art exhibited
> Fresh high quality artwork, professionally installed, and selected to be cohesive with the aesthetic of your venue

For Artists
As an artist who chooses to be a part of the Vorpal Space artists pool, you have the potential to be placed in a high traffic and quality venue free of charge to you. The show will be promoted by Vorpal Space to local and national media.

Additionally, Vorpal Space exclusively represents and acts as an agent for a small number of established artists. For these artists, we propmote their work, seek out show opportunities and handle sales of their work to third parties. This role represents the natural evolution of a relationship between a curator and an artist and, for us, happens only very rarely.

To this end we are constantly accepting submissions from artists who wish to participate. Initial screenings are made with regard to technical quality and professionalism. Any actual placement will be based on fitness with an appropriate venue, and the amount of artwork available for display.

To submit your artwork to Vorpal Space, please use the submission form.

For Non-Profit and Charitable Organizations
Vorpal Space is committed to being a positive and progressive force in the community, and has a long history of organizing art events to benefit worthy causes. Additionally, we have a deep network of artists who are excited to use their artwork to promote such causes. Curatorial and artist placement services are available at a negotiable and discounted rate for such organizations.

Vorpal Space is especially interested in working for charities which promote personal liberties, progressive social policies, and the humane treatment of animals. Please inquire as to whether your organization would be a good fit with our mission and aesthetic.
