Carnal Worship -- photography by Steve Lenz ![]() In April 2007, Vorpal Space presented "Carnal Worship" a collection of photographs by Portland area artist Steve Lenz. As a commercial photographer Steve Lenz's work is clean and noncontroversial. Carnal Worship, as seen on www.carnalworship.com, has been Steve's alter ego -- his place to explore darker and more provocative themes. The images he has done for Carnal Worship stretch what is normally seen in fashion, glamour, and fetish photography -- both in terms of subject matter, and in terms of technical quality. Above all Steve Lenz is a technical master of the photographic medium, and and imbues his images with a subtle and refined understanding of light, shadow, and composition. This show represents his favorite images made under the moniker Carnal Worship. Steve Lenz is a well known regional photographer, who work has appeared in publications as diverse as Newsweek and Lowrider Magazine. "Carnal Worship" is his second show at Vorpal Space, coming on the heels of "fire" presented in April of 2006. Please direct any inquiries to david @ vorpalspace.com.
